I’m originally from New York (forever a Giants fan) but I seemed to have done so much more in Arizona. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Arizona, completed my master’s degree in English from Northern Arizona University, along with being happily married for 17 years and raising two incredible children. When I’m not tossing the football around with my son and playing hide-and-go-seek with my daughter, I write novels, plays, strum on my guitar, cartoon, feed the homeless and read. One will always see me have selected works from Mark Twain, the Harlem Renaissance, the Transcendentalists, the Irish playwrights, the Romantic Lakeside Poets and of course; Shakespeare. In addition to reading, I enjoy performing skits with my theater group called, “The Amazing Wretches” but my true passion is in teaching. I have worked as a journalist and as an editor, although teaching brings me so much joy and fulfillment more so than anything else I’ve done professionally thus far. I love when my students hone their talents and take ownership of their goals. I learn just as much from my students as they do from me. I am thrilled to be teaching English this year with the Copper Point Schools.
I grew up in Sierra Vista, Arizona and moved here to Tucson for college in 2009. I graduated from the University of Arizona with my degree in History. One of my biggest passions is the sport of Volleyball, though I don’t play competitively too much anymore I have put all of my focus into coaching. I currently am the head coach of the Girls Junior Varsity team at Catalina Foothills High School, while also coaching the Men’s Club Volleyball Team at the University of Arizona where we have won back to back National Championships in 2015 and 2016. Both my experiences in coaching and teaching have given me great happiness in helping students achieve their goals and I am excited to be back with such a great staff and awesome students.
